Benton’s fine art explorations examine divisiveness and the message overload of the modern world. Through her poetic musings on the sanctity of nature, the sacred beauty of reality, and our collective human experience, she illuminates our connection to self, the much larger universe and common consciousness.
Mysterious geometric symbols, suggestive traces of text, and expressive fragments of human anatomy are just some ways people have described the work of artist Ashlie Benton. Very organic and fluid, she brings in multiple languages into the 'collage' with beautiful realism, abstract iconography all functioning within it. She manages to make her them cohere poetically and I think they are compelling works of art because of that. "Through this introspection, I hope to uncover and accept forgotten and rejected parts to find both a freedom and a connection to a something bigger and universal."
Working from an intuitive and emotional space, I explore the nature of my human experience- seeking to understand what influences it, where truth lies and how we all are are formed by our senses, cultural impositions and projections, and our ego. Through this introspection, I hope to illuminate our connection to self, the much larger universe and common consciousness.
